Lions fall to 49ers, 20-6

The Detroit Lions showed little in the way of any type of offense in a 20-6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

It really wasn’t a bad performance at all from the Lions defense, but it’s hard to win games when you just kick two field goals.

Detroit trailed just 6-3 heading into halftime but surrendered two third-quarter touchdowns to open things up.

Running back Maurice Morris was one of the offensive leaders for the Lions, but he even put up ugly numbers. Morris had just 37 yards on 18 carries.

The season can’t end soon enough at this point for the Lions, who are eagerly awaiting Week 17.

Lions fall to Bears, 37-23

The Detroit Lions kept it close for most of the way before finally falling to the division rival Chicago Bears, 37-23.

It was actually a respectable performance from quarterback Daunte Culpepper, who had 262 yards passing and two touchdowns with just one interception.

Too bad he was matched up against quarterback Jay Cutler, who has absolutely caught fire these past few weeks.

Cutler finished with 274 yards and four touchdown passes.

The Lions simply don’t have the offensive firepower to match teams score for score in a shootout.

Despite another season with double-digit losses, the Lions can look forward to better days ahead.
